Here are some tips:
1) Magazines: Magazines are a great place to start, and super convenient if you find one if you like-- just tear it out and bring it to your stylist.
2) Your friends. They might feel a bit strange, but they shouldn't mind you taking a picture of them to take with if you really like their hair! They'll be quite flattered, too.
3) People Watching. Although it's a bit more awkward to get a picture of random strangers, it's still a good place to get basic ideas....
